Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is a state-level examination conducted by Kerala Government Education department (KGEB) to ensure that the selected candidates for the teacher posts are eligible for those posts. The KTET is conducted in four categories.

Category I – Lower Primary Classes
Category II – Upper Primary Classes
Category III – High School Classes
Category IV – Language Teachers (Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu) in UP level and Specialist Teachers (Arts & Crafts, Sports)

Note:-

Candidates who are passed C-TET primary stage do not need to attend KTET – I. Candidates who passed C-TET elementary stage are excepted for KTET – II.
Candidates with NET, SET, M.Phil, PhD, M.Ed are excepted to attend KTET Category I to IV.
Candidates who passed KTET – III do not need to attend KTET – II.
Candidates with KTET I, II are eligible for the LP or UP school teacher posts.

Application Fee

All candidates have to pay INR 500/- as application fee. SC/ ST/ PWD candidates need to pay INR 250/- only. Pay application fee online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card system.

Age Limit

There is no age limit to apply for KTET Notification 2020.

Eligibility Criteria For KTET 2020

The educational qualification to apply for the KTET is different based on the category. Category wise eligibility for KTET is as follows.

Category I – Lower Primary Classes (1 to 5)

Candidates should have 12th/ 10+2 examination pass or it’s equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks and qualification certificate of the two-year teacher training course (TTC) [by whatever name known]conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary examination pass or it’s equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
12th/ 10+2 pass or it’s equivalent with at least 45% marks along with qualifying 2-year diploma in elementary education (as known) by NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
OR
12th/ 10+2 pass or it’s equivalent with at least 50% marks and a degree in 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

Category II – Upper Primary Classes (6 to 8)

Candidates with B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com. Graduation degree and 2-year diploma Elementary Education/ Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
Qualified 12th or Senior Secondary or it’s equivalent with at least 50% marks along with appearing and qualifying four year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Qualified graduation in B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com with a minimum of 45% marks and possess one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), by regulations, norms, and procedure of NCTE as per the latest official notice.
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary examination pass or it’s equivalent with at least 50% marks and four-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed.

Category III – High School classes (Class 9-12)

Graduates with BA/BSc/B.Com degree securing at least 45% marks along with a B.Ed are eligible to apply for KTET Category III.
OR
Candidates willing to apply for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, should have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT to be eligible to apply.
OR
Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent to it.
OR
Those candidates are interested in Botany and Zoology subjects, should be qualified with MSc.Ed. Degree in Life Science with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education is eligible to apply.

Category IV – High School classes (Class 9-12)

Candidates, possessing Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in teaching in any subject, and are approved by Universities/NCTE/ Board of Examinations/ Government of Kerala, are eligible to apply.
OR
Those candidates who have acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of Kerala Education Act And Rules can apply for Kerala TET 2020 paper IV.

How to Apply for KTET 2020

Interested candidates are requested to apply online through the official website. follow the below-given steps to submit KTET application 2020.

Click on the New Registration button.
Read all the given instructions before filling the application form.
Fill all the details and then upload the scanned documents in the prescribed format.
Check all the information before submitting it.
Reserved category candidates (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH) must possess the certificate to support their claim at the time of the interview.
After the successful submission, you can download your KTET Application Form 2020 Online.
Take a printed copy of it for further requirements.

KTET 2020 Exam Pattern

The KTET question paper will be in multiple-choice objective type only. There will be 150 questions ina paper and each question carry 1 marks. There are no negative marks for wrong answers. The questions shall be in medium English and Malayalam. Candidates need to select the medium of question paper at the time of filling application form.

KTET 2020 Hall Ticket

Candidates can download hall ticket using application Number and Application ID. The KTET admission Tickets will be available to download on the pareeshabhavan official website. Candidates without hall ticket are not allowed to enter into the examination hall. KTET qualified candidates should submit the examination hall invigilator signed hall ticket at the time of document verification and to get KTET certificate 2020.
