Kerala Administrative Service Selection Process

The KAS selection process consists of three steps. Preliminary Examination, Main Exami\

nation and Interview.

KAS 2020 Preliminary Exam:-

The KAS preliminary examination shall be in Objective mode only. Total two papers have in preliminary exam and each one having a minimum of 100 marks. The duration of each paper of exam is 1 hour and 30 minutes. The questions will be asked from the topics General studies I and II, Current Events and Language proficiency in Malayalam/ Tamil/ Kannada. The Medium of question papers would be in English.

KAS 2020 Main Exam:-

The Main Examination having 3 papers of 300 marks combined and each papers having 100 marks. The duration of the examination shall be 2 hours. As per the KAS information, the main examination questions shall be asked from the topics Science subject, Humanities and Kerala Affairs.

Interview:-

The interview is conducted by the Kerala PSC. After the main examination, KPSC will publish the result list. As per the result, selected candidates will be called for a face to face personal interview. The final ranked list will consider the candidate’s performance in the interview too. The interview has a maximum score of 50 marks.

After the KAS selection, the candidates shall undergo training for a period of 18 months and be on probation for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years inclusive of the period of training.
