How to get e-rupi? What is e rupi and where to use? List of banks that are live with e-RUPI

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new cashless payment solution, which will operate based on e-vouchers calls “e-rupi”. The system has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI) in collaboration with the department of Financial Services, National Health Authority, Health ministry and Family Welfare (MoHFW), and partner banks.

What is e rupi?

Even if a person does not have a smart phone or a bank account, they can use e-RUPI vouchers. e-RUPI vouchers will be shared with the beneficiaries by organizations or Government via SMS or QR code. The e-vouchers will share directly  to the beneficiaries mobile phones. These e-vouchers will be person and purpose-specific. For example, if you have an e-RUPI voucher for Covid-19 vaccine, then it has to be redeemed for vaccines only.

  • Quick, safe & contactless voucher distribution.
  • These vouchers will be used mostly for health-related payments.

  • Beneficiary doesn’t need to share personal details while redemption hence privacy is maintained.

Where to use e-Rupee

The e-rupi services also be used to obtain medicines and diagnostics services under schemes such as Maternal and Child Welfare Schemes, TB Eradication Programs and AYUSHMAN BHARAT Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and to provide services related to nutrition support schemes. The e-rupee system can also be used for fertilizer subsidy etc.
